Bell Sixer Mips Helmet The upgrade from the fiver The all-mountain half-shell that can do it all. Introducing the Bell Sixer MIPS Helmet, an extended coverage half-shell loaded with features. Complete with an in-molded construction, a multi-density EPS liner, and Mips® Evolve technology, the Sixer is the perfect helmet for aggressive trail or all-mountain riding. Bell loaded this helmet with vents, including four brow ports, to keep the air flowing while you're riding. The fusion in-mold polycarbonate shell creates a sturdier helmet and is paired with progressive layering that better manages the transfer of energy from certain impacts. With MIPS, the helmet will better reduce rotational forces that can result from angled impacts. The visor is four-position adjustable so you can rest your goggles on top of your helmet when you are climbing and a rubber goggle gripper on the rear of the helmet ensures they don’t slip down. For a secure fit, Bell gave the Sixer their Float Fit Race system, which uses a micro-adjust dial in the rear and vertical and horizontal adjuments for the perfect fit. Benefits

The Bell Sixer MIPS Helmet excels in safety and comfort, making it suitable for all-mountain riding. The helmet's design minimizes the risk of injury during impacts, while the ventilation system ensures you stay cool. The customizable fit enhances user experience, and the stylish matte brick red/ocean color adds a touch of flair.

Potential Drawbacks

While the Bell Sixer MIPS Helmet offers many benefits, it may not be suitable for everyone. Some users may find the helmet slightly heavier than other models in the market, weighing around 395g for size medium. Additionally, the price point may be higher compared to basic helmets, which might deter budget-conscious buyers.

Comparison to Similar Products

When compared to similar products like the Giro Switchblade or POC Tectal, the Bell Sixer MIPS Helmet stands out with its MIPS technology and superior ventilation. However, the Giro Switchblade offers a removable chin bar for added versatility, which might appeal to riders looking for more coverage.

Practical Tips for Use

  1. Fit Adjustment: Take the time to properly adjust the Float Fit Race™ system to ensure maximum comfort and safety during rides.
  2. Visor Positioning: Adjust the visor according to your riding style and terrain to optimize visibility and protect against sun glare.
  3. Maintenance: Regularly check the straps and padding for wear and tear, and clean the helmet using a mild detergent to maintain its appearance and performance.

Complementary Products

Customers often buy the Bell Sixer MIPS Helmet alongside goggles, gloves, and padded shorts. High-quality goggles will enhance your vision while protecting your eyes, gloves will improve grip and control, and padded shorts will provide additional comfort during long rides. Brands like Oakley for goggles and Fox Racing for gloves and shorts work well in combination with the helmet.

Current Trends and Innovations

The trend in mountain biking helmets is moving towards enhanced safety technologies like MIPS, which the Bell Sixer incorporates. Additionally, lightweight materials and improved ventilation systems are becoming standard. The Bell Sixer MIPS Helmet aligns well with these trends, ensuring riders have access to cutting-edge safety features while enjoying comfort and style.
